Locations Guide


This is always a tricky decision as there are so many stunning locations on the Mornington Peninsula. But don't fret, I have my four main locations set out below for you to look over.

 

Location One


Shoreham Pines/Beach


Shoreham pines/beach is a stunning & versatile location with the best of both worlds. Huge moody pine trees

and a beautiful beach with black, volcanic rocks.


Notes

  • No Public toilets available at parking spot, but available nearby
  • Limited Parking at location (in small court next to access to walking path)
  • Short walk approx 5-10mins to access location - some steep areas down to beach, including steps.
  • Shaded, wooded area with grassy spots (depending on time of year) + tall pine trees.
  • Large beach area with shallow water access - can get a lot of seaweed washing up there.
  • Family Friendly.
  • Pets not permitted off the lead (Mornington Peninsula National Park)
  • Start time typically earlier than golden hour to allow enough light in wooded location, plus sun sets behind the pines when on the beach so will lose light earlier.

 

 

Location two


Flinders Cliffs


Surrounded by tall grasses and stunning ocean views. It has a boho, golden feel to the session.


Notes

  • No public toilets
  • Parking is limited to a small dirt car park - when busy it may be necessary to park further down the road.
  • Medium walk on gravel approx 10-15mins, some steep sections be mindful if any mobility concerns - steep steps to the beach access. Rocky areas on beach.
  • Beach Access (rocky) & Grassy Clifftop views
  • Family Friendly
  • Pets not permitted (Mornington Peninsula National Park)

 

 

Location three


Blairgowrie back beach


Blairgowrie back beach has stunning coast lines, sandstone cliffs and green ocean flora.


Notes

  • No Public toilets available
  • Parking at location - small gravel car park.
  • Approx. 10-15mins walk to access location - some slightly steep areas/stairs down to beach.
  • Beach access with rocky areas, clifftop views, and dried shrubbery.
  • Clifftop area isn’t Family Friendly for younger kids.
  • Pets not permitted (Mornington Peninsula National Park)
  • Bright location with little/no shade - Ideally used for Golden/Blue hour (hour before sunset + short amount of time after)  

 

 

Location Four


Pt Leo Beach


A coastal dream with a quiet, sheltered beach, old boat house and timber pier. It gives the tropical feel while stay on the Peninsula.


Notes

  • Public toilets available on entrance to Pt Leo
  • Parking at location - large car park.
  • Approx 5mins walk down stairs to access location
  • Family Friendly
  • Not disability accessible
  • Mostly in the sun
